Navajo, for its part, has at least ten different verbs for different kinds of carrying, which depend on the shape and physical properties of the thing being carried: Aah means to carry a solid roundish object, such as a ball, a rock, or a bottle; kaah means to carry an open container with its contents, such as a pot of soup or a basket of fruit; le means to carry a slender flexible object like a belt, a snake, or a robe; and so on.
